About the Choir Nordlys
Nordlys is a well established and ambitious choir consisting of about 15 female Danish singers, who all have experience in choir singing, solo singing and performance. The choir has a wide repertoire of rhythmic as well as classical songs, but as the name suggests (Nordlys means “Northern Light”), our strength and competence lie in modern and traditional Scandinavian music. When the choir performs there will typically be a few soloist spots.
As eager advocators for Nordic songs and music, Nordlys have several concert trips on their resume to both Norway, Argentina, Belgium and Spain. We give high priority to musical and cultural exchange and like working with foreign groups and soloists.
About the conductor
Nordlys’ conductor is Jens Trygve Dreijer. Trygve has graduated from the University of Copenhagen in Musicology and has great experience in vocal teaching and choir leading which includes “Ambitus”, “Scat Cat”, “Tårnbykoret” and “Lærerhøjskolens kor”. Trygve has also composed and published several works for choir, which has been listed on several choir gatherings in Denmark.
